My Background

  • I was born, and live in Huntsville, Alabama in the United States. 

  • I have a strong interest in international development and social services. 

  • I have a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Political Science from Auburn University where I focused my studies on International Relations.

  • I hold a Master of Education (MA Ed.) degree from the University of Alabama in Birmingham. I concentrated my studies in Special Education focusing on Learning Disabilities.

  • I was a public school teacher from 1997 to 2009 in Alabama and Georgia.

  • In 2009, I founded a Non-Profit social service agency known as GLBT Advocacy & Youth Services which eventually became known simply as Free2Be. Our mission was to end violence while advocating for the Human & Civil Rights of Sexual & Gender Minorities. I was CEO through 2017. Unfortunately, the agency closed in May of 2018 due to funding issues. 

  • In 2018 I earned a TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) Certificate. I am member of the TESOL International Association.

  • I am currently a Doctor Candidate (Ed.D) at Northcentral University. My specialization is International Education.

  • I am a member of the Association of American Educators
